Redivivus provides their “blue-collar” based colonization approach and key enabling technologies to expedite the creation of space settlements.

Redivivus is a company dedicated to taking human space exploration to the next level, settlement. Moving to this next step requires more than pure technological advancement. It requires public outreach and education to create and maintain the necessary enthusiasm and commitment to complete this long-term effort. Redivivus believes that the time has come to augment today’s astronauts, who are generally superhuman (holding multiple PhDs and are fighter pilots, or are simultaneously medical doctors and navy seals), with a more blue-collar variety of astronaut - ones that are willing to do the skilled work required for permanent habitation, such as: construction, mining, and reclamation. A class of astronaut that the American public can better relate to. The equivalent of space journeyman.

The largest impediment to moving from our tentative exploration phase to a long-term settlement phase is the overwhelming number (and mass) of items that need to be launched to initiate and sustain these settlements. The name Redivivus is Latin for recycling. A fundamental part of the Redivivus vision for space settlements is to reclaim and reuse the 100s-of-billions of dollars in commercial geostationary communications satellites currently stored in the satellite graveyard. Hence, rare, complicated, and expensive materials and manufacturing processes need not be replicated and relaunched. Redivivus believes that tomorrow’s space settlements will be built on the backs of today’ space junk. We believe this is fundamentally the fastest way to stand up space settlements, and therefore also the highest return on investment for the American taxpayer.
